Reviews and Ratings
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. However, the rooms left much to be desired, feeling like a nightclub aftermath, dark, and with various maintenance issues. The service was a mixed bag, with a friendly welcome but overall incompetence and lack of attention. The dining experience was hit or miss, with excellent value for some items but lacking atmosphere in the restaurant. Overall, a stay with mixed feelings.
My stay at the Axel Hotel was a mixed experience. While the rooms definitely need a complete refurbishment, lacking sufficient lighting and space, especially the Junior Suite, the service was top-notch, with the staff being very friendly, helpful, and attentive. Despite the shortcomings in the rooms, the overall value for money is decent.
The hotel has a great location close to the U-Bahn and excellent dining options nearby. Rooms are small for the price and feature an open plan bathroom, which may not be ideal for sharing with a friend. The courtyard orientation is a plus, especially for a peaceful stay at 5:00.
The hotel is in a convenient location near the Kadewe department store and the Wittenberg underground station. The rooms are dated with wear and tear but lack a wardrobe. The service had some issues, including misleading information and power outages. The dining experience is nice but expensive. The overall value for money is questionable.
The hotel's rooms were stylish, comfortable, and clean, a pleasure to return to after a long day of sightseeing. However, the lack of noise insulation from the restaurant below can be bothersome on disco nights. Overall, a recommendable choice for travelers.
The hotel offers interesting interior design in black and mirrors with a bath practically in the middle of the room. While the rooms were clean and tidy, they felt slightly overpriced for what they are. However, I did notice that they looked untidy with my luggage around all the time.
The hotel rooms were spacious but a little tired-looking, surprisingly bigger than expected, and clean, although the common areas lacked cleanliness. The dining experience felt pretty horrible, resembling a post-party night club ambiance, but this didn't significantly impact my trip.
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms were a good size and well-equipped but had a terrible smell. The service was friendly and helpful overall, but there was an issue with room security. The location was convenient for social activities but challenging to reach from the airport. The dining options were limited and overpriced.
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. While the room I had lacked space for luggage, unlike other hotels, it did offer a surprisingly large single room with a comfy bed, a nice shower, and even a jacuzzi-type bath. However, I had some issues with the billing process and found the management unavailable when needed.
The hotel has some positive aspects like an excellent shower and bubble bath in the rooms, but it did smell of cigarette smoke and had a strong old, dingy odor. The location is very good but lacks fresh towels sometimes. The dining experience was wholesome, although slightly pricey. The service was a mix of highly skilled and professional on some days and rude and inefficient on others.
The hotel is in a great location, close to KaDeWe and Tiergarten, with redecorated rooms since our last stay. The service is top-notch, although lacking local knowledge. The dining experience, while good, could improve. Overall, a comfortable stay with excellent service.
